That’s what they rely as large numbers are often waiting for stuff. Like I say, look for your name. It’s the biggest clue. Even then not 100% but without it it’s certainly a fake.

Do you mean that it works in the sense that you no longer get those calls ?

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for having a bit of fun with scammers on the phone.

After I started to use that tactic the calls diminished to the point that I can’t remember the last time I got one. Could just be correlation though.

I did it primarily to cut the call short, as it creates an impasse for them.
