Looks like I should ask the 'experts' opinion, before I spend any of my money in future.

I'm not talking about the trip to and from the pub, I'm talking about the period when its parked up outside the pub, a pub bike needs to be nondescript, it needs not to attract attention, it needs to blend in so people take no notice of it. The OP's bike fails on all those counts, it is likely to attract attention.
