As Vickster said Dolan is worth a look. This one is priced at £649. Shimano 105, also available in white/red/black. Comes with bosses for pannier rack and mudguards too.

Planet X for me as it has a full Shimano 105 group set. The decathlon Triban 540 is only part 105 with own brand brakes and Prowheel Ounce crank? And a lot of other own brand components. At 5ft 9" a 54cm bike should be spot on. Two friends of mine ride Planet X road bikes and they rate them highly.

Think I'm Going to pop to my local decathlon maybe over the weekend and try and arrange to go up to Planet X and see what they are like but the Planet X seams the better bike just thinking if I have trouble with it it's a long way to go and sort out.

I'd recommend a visit to your nearest Decathlon and have a look at a Triban. My mate bought one as he wasn't sure if road cycling would be his thing. He loves cycling and his Triban 500. He was able to try the bike in store and they even did a basic bike fit.

Still haven't got a bike yet with moving house had to take aback burner but still looking the planetx rt 58 still to me looks the best wit a full 105 group set which will futer proof the bike to a degree. But heard most places have a sale soon so will have to keep an eye open for that
