If you look at Kinesis you might want to consider the Tripster ATR V3. It isn't a true road bike but is a very adaptable bike for many different uses.

I've only owned mine for three weeks. I bought it to cover three functions winter/gravel/touring. It ticks all the boxes - I'm very happy to recommend it. Currently I'm running 35mm winter tyres so I can't get a direct comparison but I think with 28mm it would be an excellent road bike. Possibly a bit slower on climbs.

Why dont you look at the 3t Exploro Racemax - that looks like a riot do it all in one.
Its SRAM rather than di2 but still wireless.

They do indeed. The Domane SL7 would fit the bill for you - Carbon, Di2, Mudguard Mounts, wide tubeless tires and very good carbon wheels all at a price slightly above your original budget.

It's not the lightest bike - but with big tires and the isospeed setup it would certainly be very comfortable and reasonably quick too. I've got the ALR version with the mudguards fitted and even with narrow 25c tires it's a nice easy ride.

Edit to add: I'd get the SL6 personally and save £1500 just so I could have it in red
Been looking at this and really like the look of them. Especially with the frame compartment this is the number 1 contender I think at the mo, I am going to my dealer in the next week or so for a look and measure up although it’s a 6month lead time at the minute 😢
I still keep looking at the definition too but for an all season bike it seems to have quite a long reach and low stack, I think it’s the road cc review where the journalist bought one himself that keeps drawing me back in. Out of all the bikes available that they test and he purchased one with his own money that must mean it’s pretty good

It would be strictly used on the road I’m always looking to improve my fitness and times on my go to loop which is a fairly hilly 40miler. I did look at the ribble cgr as I do quite like the idea of having 2sets of wheels, I’m just not sure how it would fair on the road speed wise
I'm in the same boat and maybe even the same stage. Ribble Ti is now on my short short list! Endurance Ti seems a little on the aggressive end of endurance to(for)me. Am seriously thinking of the CGR Ti with more of a road build, plus I'd get the wider tyres and stock wheels for the dark and dirty months. Reckon this will then give me a great all year and all rounder. My "beautiful Italian mistress" can then come out for high days and holidays, glorious Yorkshire summer days and probably sportives and the like. 2021 and coming back to UK I will need to get out & ride as much as I can to avoid going stir craz

I have a Cannondale Carbon Synapse. It ticks all my boxes - comfortable but fast, strong and lightweight.

The only downside is the BB which is a BB30a - slightly odd if you are not used to fettling your own bike.

I looked at these before I bought my synapse, that’s what I struggle with as it’s called an endurance but the stack seems really low.
That’s my only concern about the definition too as it seems a bit more stretched and a bit lower than what I currently have although all reviews praise how comfortable it is 🤔

How are you findi the synapse? Do you use full length 'stock' mudguards e.g. Sks & similar & wide tyres(what width?. I want to be in a relaxed and more upright position not slammed low like a wanna be pro, far too old for that. A bike ride might be hard work, I do train, but it has to be enjoyable. Somewhere on every ride the excitement and fun like a 10 year old boy with freedom and imagination must be there

Which Definition are you talking about ?

Edit: Just read below it’s the Mason.

I have the Resolution in avatar

Hi, could anyone help with bikes to look at. My budget is £4-5000 my one want is di2, ideally I’d like mudguard mounts too.
My rides are usually 2-3hours I would like something fairly comfortable but not slow.
So far I have eyed up a mason definition and cannondale supersix, just wondered what else I could look at?
The mason fits the bill for everything but I’m not 100% sure on the fit.
The cannondale will fit fine and be quick I’m just not sure about fitting mudguards to this.
Or do I get the cannondale and a 2nd bike for bad weather?

What have you got now and what do you like or don't like about it ?

Personally I prefer a summer and winter bike. Winter has proper full length guards and not clip ons, slightly cheaper and cheaper groupset - if you're coming off - then it's likely to be the winter bike that gets it.

I'd also go for clearance for wider tyres. Either the roads are getting crappier or my tolerance for them is.

That might push you towards discs ? Not sure what your views on them are.

Oh having two bikes is great if you have issues. You need never miss a ride as there's a spare bike. So it helps if wheels are compatible across them.

Your budget is loads. Just remember that doubling the cost of your bike won't double the speed/fun factor.

I do like the synapse it’s comfortable and pretty fast. I have no real reason to change other than I’d like some deep wheels and di2 now.
I have been struggling to get mudguards to fit the shop have tried 3 and can’t get a set that will fit both ends although in my other post I see they can be fitted so might just be an issue with my lbs.
I have now changed to 32mm tyres and these are very comfortable

I can see the benefit of having 2 bikes although I’d rather just have one decent set up that I can use year round.
Tyres I’d use a minimum of 28mm or up to 32mm and would only be looking for disc brakes.
Currently ride a cannondale synapse I like the bike and can’t fault it i am just looking for something with di2 and would like some deep wheels. I could upgrade my bike but it would prob work out the same as selling mine and buying a whole new bike

Will after much debating I have stuck with my original choice and gone with the mason definition di2 in black with hunt 50mm wheels.
Only problem now is mason are out of stock on many shimano parts so the delivery date has been pushed back to April 😢

Worry not. I ordered mine and was quoted January 21. I got an email when frame left Italy and when it arrived at Mason. They only have 4 staff but the bike was delivered early December. You have made an excellent choice and I found them brilliant to deal with. Weather is crap, lockdown, home schooling so mine is sat in garage having not turned a wheel. By the time April arrives lockdown should hopefully be easing and schools back, more freedom and time to ride so it’s coming at the best time :okay:
