I got my new cervelo and have done 2 rides so far. First ride the chain came off so i put it back on without any problems didn't think off anything, second ride does the same after 24 miles but completely jams the crankset had to walk to local go outdoors to see if they could help and they did although it strached the frame. Also while there they found that the chain wouldn't go into the 28 i have just stops moving at 25. I have emailed the shop to see what they are going to do about it.

But what would you want to happen if it happened to you.

Sounds like the limit screws need adjusting on the front mech. I'd get LBS to remedy it as it is new, possibly worth considering a chain catcher too.

I'd be surprised if the shop did much about a scratched frame though, hope I'm wrong.

Sounds like the limit screws need adjusting on the REAR mech (28 tooth).
Was the bike assembled by a proper bike shop? Or was it an on-line purchase delivered in a box? If the former I would be kicking off with whatever shop you got it from! If it came in a box and you assembled it yourself...... I would be kicking off at you, and putting it down to experience or lack thereof (and first stop would be a reputable LBS to get it sorted properly).

Proper LBS also a cervelo and focus dealer

I would speak to the LBS about it but I would also analyse why it dropped off.

The local Go Outdoors is in Portrack a relatively flat road but poor surface with potholes.

Might be from chain clatter, cross chaining, chain too slack, indexing and limit screws.

What would I want - free parts and labor for as long as I had the bike. Probably would not get it though.

None of the above should happen if the LBS actually knows what they are doing. I'd be back in the shop Monday morning (no friggin emails) dropping the bike off so they can sort it out before I pick it up on Tuesday. If the frame damage is minor, then they need to patch it with some paint. If the frame damage is major, then a new frame is expected.

Plus you need to learn how to adjust the limiter screws on a bike. None of what happened is your fault, but you need to learn that you're the only person who's really going to pay attention to setting your bike up correctly and most mech's in bike shops are busy.

And when you pick your lovely almost new bike up again at your LBS, with the FD and RD both set up properly, have a quick ride and check, there and then. Go up and down the cassette in both chainwheels (avoiding extreme cross chaining) but checking while static that in small to small the RD wraps but not too far, and in large to large it will change up to the 28t and the cage is no further forward (ie less than) than 45 degrees to the chainstay. When in small (chainwheel) to large there should be no more than 1mm gap to the inner plate of the FD cage. When in large (chainwheel) to your smallest sprocket there should be no more than 1mm gap to the outer plate of the FD cage. Best of luck and as others have suggested, well worth learning to understand, recognise an issue, diagnose the remedy, and sort it yourself.

Back to the shop and I would expect it sorting. It's there set up the caused the issues in the first place. Most manuals that come with bikes tell you to get a professional to adjust and set up so they can't say you should have the knowledge to do it yourself.
It's worth learning and not difficult but not an excuse they can use to swerve it.
After all that, buy a singlespeed and Fook these cassettes and derailleur off
