I'm out of touch, but isn't there a law against putting a gel saddle on a Cannondale?

(It's generally regarded that gel saddles, while feeling more comfortable when you first get on, push into the the softer tissues and will cause more problems than a well matched harder saddle. A saddle that you only contact on your "sit-bones" will be more comfortable in the long term than one that gently contacts you in a lot more places)

'A law against putting a gel seat on a Cannondale' ??? Please !!! I may be new to all this but I'm not a clown.

What is wrong with putting a get seat on the bike, it is the same shape and size of the OE seat that came with the bike, with the exception that it's got a slightly higher profile, which I have taken this into consideration and lowered the stem height.

Use the saddle that works for you, I personally could not get on with a "comfort gel saddle" but have found Charge Spoon saddles are perfect for me.

Don't like 2015 or 2016 Cannondale colourists, prefer the black...but what a cracking bike!!!

Cracking saddle the Spoon.
But I am so vain,I sold mine last month because the red logo on it did not match the bike :shy:
I'm using a Bontrager just now,and it's brilliant,but I will buy another Spoon this month.:okay:

A myth that I suspect is encouraged by producers of thickly-padded pants. If it were true, why would having layers of foam inside your shorts not result in softer contact over a wider area and cause similar problems? What matters is that it's the right padding on the right places for you: firm contact on sit bones, no contact on inner thighs, and so on. Doesn't much matter whether the padding's on one saddle or many pants.

Or the 'updated' Fabric version;

So happy with them that I have three of them(plus a spoon on the Planet X);most comfortable saddle I've used (the shallow version).Tempted to try the ALM but it's a lot of dosh and it's really a racing saddle I think.

As others have said gel saddles are fine for a bit but a good 'normal' saddle that suits you will probably be better in the long term.

You can get trial saddles at some shops(Fizik definately does them and others too I think) and Fabric do a 60 day option too;
