It is not wind stopper material. It is essentially Roubaix fabric, i.e. brushed/fleecy on the inside, plain lycra outside. TBH though, windstopper fabric is not really needed on your legs IMO (only on your chest/torso and arms generally). The 3/4 length are plenty warm enough for all but the most brutal of temperatures.

unfortunately they jumped to over a ton again. might try and find elsewhere on sale

what is DHB fit like?
i'm a bit of an odd shape, 5'9", 33/34 waist depending on what i've had for dinner
skinnyish legs. medium in most things

FYI, that's a large in Castelli. I am exactly the same size as you.

Oh, and if you join British Cycling, you can get discounts at Wiggle that include Sorpassos. I joined this year and have got my subs back in discounts already.

ok went for the dhb
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/dhb-vaeon-roubaix-padded-bib-tight/

first run in them today.
i ordered a S and M. the only real difference i seen was the leg in the M was longer which i settled with.
they were both pretty close fitting.
the pad is pretty good, not for long rides but short winter runs it's fine
i like the zips at the ankles and front. easy access.
was about 9/10 degrees today. legs were warm but not toasty (my legs are pretty skinny)
got a head wind on the way home and they did a good job of keeping it out

i think on a very cold day i'll be putting my merino long johns on underneath

but yeah, £50 is great. i hope they go the distance, will report back april

Anyone have any feedback on the water-proofness of the £49.99 pair ? Or if anyone can reccomend some good water proof clothing in the same sort of price range ?

Anyone any suggestions for padless longs?

I'm a tight arse so the cheaper the better. Currently use running longs, Most expensive pair is £20 decathlon jobbies but I suspect my stiff legs on rides is partly because they aren't warm enough.

These are good. I have pair from last year, no pad, warm but not too hot and are well made.
