no idea which ones to get. budget would be £100 max.
don't intent to ride in the wet so water repellant would be ok in case i'm caught out. need to stop the wind, reflective bits etc
comfortable chamois.

i hear Gore are good?

and now for something we won't see much of soon :sun: ^_^

A few folk on here have raved about these fellas
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/dhb-vaeon-roubaix-padded-bib-tight/
only 50 sheets so you can buy 2 pairs!

I don't think the DHB Vaeon Roubaix are water repellent or have wind-blocking properties. I was wearing a pair this morning and some cold icy rain at the start of my commute combined with general windy conditions resulted in rather cold thighs! I think if you want the water repellency/windstopper stuff you need to upgrade to the DHB Vaeon Zero but in doing so you're nearly doubling the price of the Vaeon Roubaix :-S

thats a pity Rob3ert they looked v nice for under a ton, getting into big money now though
i like the look of the dhb, esp the long zip at the front
would consider the Zeros actually
are dhb a big contender now? are they known for quality (mid range?)

Quality of DHB gear is spot on. More then value for money.
Other brands and makes should take a good look at DHB, how they can afford to sell such good quality gear at such good prices.

dhb stuff is very good, brilliant value for money and the top level dhb rivals other premium brands kit.

If I was given the option of the dhb vs those Castelli (with the Castelli at £96) I would take the Castelli (because the "special" fabric they use really is worth an extra £25-50), if given the choice dhb vs the Castelli at £144, I would buy the dnb because the difference isn't worth the extra IMO! I only suggested those tights as I thought they were still going at the good price and for that money, they were well worth it.

I third what Rob3rt and ianrauk have said about the DHB stuff. I've bought some of their stuff recently and I'm very happy, great value for money.
I just wish I had Zero's on this morning

Winter kit is a bit more of a balancing act than summer kit IMO, you need sufficient quality to be comfortable, but you also need to acknowledge that if you come off (which can be more likely as frost and ice start's showing up on the roads), your winter kit (being long over your knee's) is more likely to get pretty messed up, so you will want to make sure it doesn't hurt you too much financially!

I just bought a pair of Biemme Coronado tights, took them out last weekend for a 70 miler and they seem pretty good, pad was fine. Wore them this morning at 4 degrees and they seem to stay nice and toasty at lower temperatures while not being sweaty up to 10 degrees plus.
