Maybe you erased these forest tracks from memory, I wouldn't blame youI just rocked up and followed the little blue signs. I don't recall any particular nightmares on 28c's though 40+ was more comfy.
They made me swear iirc, and almost reduced my riding partner to tears, but they were/are just rough tracks in a forest. Hard to ride fast but...Maybe you erased these forest tracks from memory, I wouldn't blame you![]()
@flyingfifi who is an accomplished mbiker, nearly came off her bike on the gravel descent to Aberfoyle. They made me swear iirc, and almost reduced my riding partner to tears, but they were/are just rough tracks in a forest. Hard to ride fast but...
Thought I recognised some of the pics. I recall that my descent got a bit lairy when fully loaded but I blamed poor line choice and braking too much. I much preferred the descent to Aberfoyle to climbing out of it going the other way.@flyingfifi who is an accomplished mbiker, nearly came off her bike on the gravel descent to Aberfoyle.
I was almost in tears too.
We were riding hybrids on slick marathons, never again!
No way I'm riding that bit again without a full susThought I recognised some of the pics. I recall that my descent got a bit lairy when fully loaded but I blamed poor line choice and braking too much. I much preferred the descent to Aberfoyle to climbing out of it going the other way.
I think we skipped some of the hardest off road bits, because @Edwardoka rerouted the group.I wouldn't stay off it. I thought it was great route and I did it easily on 28c tyres. Rather do that then climb more hills IMO.
I do seem to recall some quite strident arguments against going via the Duke's Pass while I was putting together the routes... how was your trip to the Brig o' Turk tearoom?I think we skipped some of the hardest off road bits, because @Edwardoka rerouted the group.
me and Catherine walked up the big hill as she was lighter aswell lolI do seem to recall some quite strident arguments against going via the Duke's Pass while I was putting together the routes... how was your trip to the Brig o' Turk tearoom?![]()
