Naming your bike

Mine are Mjolnir, Exacaliber, Upkeep and Little Boy.

Mine all have names. So does every car I've owned. The bikes are all girls; the cars, and the camper, boys.

Oh, I forgot Vanessa. She lives elsewhere, but we have adventures together.

My wife has two Brommies, the original is called " Badger " because it's Cream and her favourite track is " Badge ". The second is " Jennifer " because it's purple, after the opening lines of the Jennie Joseph poem " Warning " ( When I am an old lady I will wear purple... )

The best bike or Herety, family know as best bike, or the blue one
The Ribble, family - white one or was green and white (respray 3 years ago)
The Boardman, family - mountain bike (there is another story as it 'appeared' in my garage after I broke my spine).
The work bike/Diamond back - family was that the blue one ? (was blue 18 months ago - repainted grey)
The Colnago or Cross bike I call it - family, when did you get that ? The black and white one ? Thought of calling it Colin the Colnago, but no.

Mrs poley seems to have a mass noun for all my bikes in the house as she just points and says "that'sinthewayagain"

Yep. They all have names. Even the car - Citroen Picasso big grey thing - is called Ellie.
Bikes are Gennie the Genesis, Mercy the Mercian, PB the purple bike (MB cycles of Dronfield job). Millie the Brommie and Fandango Lil who is the Moustache.

I thought that everyone named their bikes.

I used to have 3. One was much better and far more expensive than the other 2 so I kept that one and sold the others. I call it my bike. When I had 3 they were all called bikes.

After a long day in the saddle I have been known to refer to my bikes with "names" I won't type on here for fear of offence!

My Hardisty is called " my mountain goat bike" due to its range of gears .

Oh and my Cougar is called Brian's bike because Brian gave it to me.
