By way of a background, I already have a number of bikes and the 2 main ones are a classic steel racing bike and a ti tourer (which is my main commuter). The former only comes out on high days and holidays, not least because it cant run guards.
I should probably pose this on moneysavingexpert or something as this is probably the wrong forum for this sort of question, lol
Nearly 100 % of my riding is commuting (about 2/3 times a week, 30m rt). My children are still of the age where they want me to play with them (long may that continue) so long weekend rides are out. I do the odd summer evening ride, but the ti tourer is good enough for that.
I am back to wanting a disc braked endurance carbon bike. I am not sure why carbon other than the weight thing as I much prefer the aesthetic of skinny tubes.
I am however, struggling to justify the 'need' as my current stable is sufficient and I first bought the steel bike simply to get a race bike.
How have you, if you have, justified it to yourself?
