I could do with a lot of help with finding some new wheels for my bike as I at a total loss when it comes to wheels.

They are for a commuter, flat but on the coast for 10miles a day., for a Whyte portabello 650b 25mm are what the specs say, so looking for a replacement for those, I normally use 2.0 tyres, I’ll be honest and say I don’t do service on wheels so something bomb proof would be good.

My present wheels need tuning, which was going to get done at lbs but the back wheel has developed a hole around a spoke so replacement is needed now.

I have done a little research and still lost to be honest, can’t find a lot of option, seen a post on here recommending Spa Cycles, their hand builds start around £250, would this be a good option or are there any factory builds that fit the bill for cheaper that someone could point me too.

Thanks.

I bought some wheels through Spa cycles a couple of weeks ago and must say I was impressed. Got a phone call following my query and went through what I needed and wanted (I'm a heavy rider so had been throwing spokes on the default wheelset). They didn't push me to the most expensive set and after a few weeks the wheels came.

Started using them this week and they're very decent and seem to be up to the task I had described. So would definitely recommend them so far if you've not got a local wheel builder you'd want to use.
