Just treated myself to a new bell for my bike, I am hoping to have it painted within the month but we all know what painters are like for having things done on time
And I have also just bought some Weinmann 610 750 centre pull brakes which have polished up great.

I was going to say that too, but RED??!! :giggle:

Seriously though, yes, I'd keep them, and hey, you can always add bar tape to them if you really don't like the colour!!

Nothing wrong with them there bars Doug. would go well with these Brakes

I have now dropped the frame off at the painters,
Jonno specialises in custom air brush art work,
I have asked him to use the standard colour style except with a twist it's from 1969,
So I've said think hey man hippy style ie fluesant yellow/gold metal flake, airbrush raleigh on the frame, fancy lug lining etc etc
I want crazy unique
Let's see what he comes up with, I've to ring back in 4wks.

LOL no, this new project has a heavier more substantial frame not by much mind its still very light.

Found some pics on Google images of what the paint would have looked like so I will be dropping it off this week for painting.

The above pic is my frame I used abit of thinners to remove the paint that has been brushed on to uncover the original colour.

And this it what it will look like when I have had it painted.
That takes me back a while, the Raleigh Rapier was the first race bike that I owned. Around 1966/68
