Steve

What clipless on the fixed? SPd-SL?
Did you fine them easier to clip into on the fixed? I do when i put them from the Giant onto the fixed. But thats just me.

Yup the spd-sl's didnt really notice the ease of clipping in/out cus i was on the turbo so only had to do it once.

I only have to clip in at the start of my rides, then clip out when i get back home.

I have a dodgy knee, pains up every so often, but otherwise I just push thorough the pain.

Maybe little YC ought to HTFU?;)

I'm a bit confused. Your knee hurts so much that you can't put weight on it. You can get on the turbo and spin along happily at 90 buzzing up to 150. You can only ride on the road for a few minutes before it gets so painful you have to ride home. You want to see adoctor (so they can advise you of your cleat position).

I don't resile from my opinion that you need more exercise.
Future champions have to have the right genetic makeup, a heart that can pump gallons of blood and lungs that can process lires of air.

Why don't you see some respected trainer who has seen lots of boys like you and can make a good assessment based on experience?

Im sort of with cchapman on this. I think its strange that you can go on your turbo, sit at 90, and do some 150 cadence sprints(gosh is that it, would of thought you could get that alot higher on a fixed) but struggly on when on the road.
The problem with pushing a big gear, then changing to a smaller one, is you think your legs are spinning faster then what they are.
And when i think back, my knees used to ache alot when i stood up. I kept going though, and they got stronger, so i could stand up and push a bigger gear. Then even stronger when i started to ride fixed and i can now push a pretty big gear on the Giant no problem.
Dont be wimping out YC, but dont be pushing yourself too hard.

Yh I don't quite understand it either I may just start to bear the pain and just HTFU as Kovu suggested.

Or pehaps I am pushing too bigger gears out on the road. Or perhaps I do something different when out on the road.

And Joe I may well have been goin more than 150 but I cant count that fast lol.

(gonna do a turbo session maybe tomorrow and film it to see if you guys think I am doin anythin wrong)
