A pal of mine had something vaguely similar one afternoon on a day out in Scarborough in that he kept getting the impression there was something moving in front of him even though he could see nothing there. 5pm approaching he nipped into an opticians just to 'be on the safe side' .
5 mins later he was on his way to the local hospital.
Seems he had a detached retina.
Maybe it is nothing like that but get it checked out asap if only for your peace of mind.
