i'm reading on my laptop and i noticed that just to the left the words disappear, like i can't see them in my perifpheral vision (or however you spell it). so i look round the room and i've noticed that when i focus on something, just to the left there is nothing there.

should i be worried?

now its come back, but further left i can see a kind of fuzzy bit, like it's moved, can't explain it. it's like a distortion

ps. it just frightened to poo out of me

Migraine - thumping head to follow. Take Ibuprofen now.

Without wanting to worry you...yes.

<Unless you have just finished a bottle of wine in which case you should just accept it as a consequence>.

I think they are called floaters, seem to get worse the more tired you are.Nothing to worry about if it is.

I don't suffer from Migraines. I've had similiar twice, almost exactly the same. It was a good half hour before the mother of all headaches hit. First peripheral vision went on one side, then the other, then a bit spotty, then it began to clear and then the headache hit.

Ring NHS24 if you want advice.

If its floaters,we all have them to varying degrees, some see them more than others, its just the fluid in our eyeballs moving and possibly outside our eyeballs too.

Good as it is,its normally a nurse who advises you to go and see your doc, unless she is specialist in your problem,or a doc happens to be there too which is rare.

Definitely get it checked out... sounds like temporary restriction of blood supply to retina, for whatever reason, but certainly get it checked out.
