My enormous trauma!

My consultant told me that my residual fitness has had an enormously beneficial assistance in helping me neutralise the damage and put me on the road to recovery. This made me think that most (if not all) of you cyclists on here will have your level of activity be superbly helpful to you in case of any unfortunate accidents.

I was told the same thing at Frenchay Hospital after my accident and how strong my heart was for a guy my age (47 at the time). I also spoke to one of the nurses from the ITU a little later and he told me that people with my type and level of head injury are usually pronounced as brain dead within a couple of hours!........Too much information for me at the time.
