I shouldn't have done it, got the wider seat that is.

I now have a lump in my groin the doctor calls a benign cist.

It has only come on since fitting my new seat, although it is more comfortable.

I got a prescription for anti biotics and i may syringe it myself to speed things up.

with regard to my canoe

Slap some Sudacreme on it and it should clear up in a few days.
I was getting them almost weekly until I got a Charge Spoon saddle which narrower and, so far (3weeks), a lot more comfortable (bargain at only £20). Also some proper padded shorts are a must, DHB from Wiggle are very good and cheap.

I also notice the huge differential between saddle height and handlebar, indicating the bike is too small for you. You appear to have tried to remedy this by dropping the nose waaaaay down, likely causing you to slide forward onto the nose of the saddle.

It ain't gonna work.

Road tyres would be good, if you can get the bars up and investing is worthwhile

you're right in all that you say.

I cant raise the stem any higher but I may weld an extension to it so i dont keep going forward on the seat.

I don't want to buy another larger bike cos I am low on cash but it's my only form of transport at the mo.

I have a sense of pride, or something, cos i don't pollute the Devon air.
I also get fitter, lighter and save money on diesel.

Today however i was shouted at by a mini bus driver for not stopping to allow him past, this has shaken me a little cos I was going fairly quick down hill. When i drove cars i never shouted or beeped at a cyclist. I feel that i am an easy target for speed boats and jet skis at sea and now i am starting to get abuse from a minibus driver.

What is the normal response one would do if abused like this.

The best response is not to let it bother you and carry on as you were.
His anger shouldn't ruin your day.

Hopefully he's in the minority and you encounter very few people like that but they are out there and you will meet them occasionally.

Some people attract angry nutters like flies and others seem to slip under their radar, but you're not likely to with a chuffing great boat hanging out the back ;).

agree with Longers . You could report him to the bus company but that probably wouldn't help much. He'd probably try to swipe you off the road next time he saw you.
Best probably to smile and wave to him. That will completely disarm him:biggrin:

Peanut is right but if I can I try to allow large vehicles past, sometimes by pulling over. You're not obliged to but it makes for a more comfortable ride when you have a bus or lorry desperately trying to get past. I'm not always so reasonable. It depends on the situation.

Rich P has a point. You may have the legal right but for the sake of stopping (if safe) and letting a vehicle past you are reducing danger to yourself, both physical and stress related. That said I admit I do not always practice what I preach
