I do a great deal of mental writing whilst riding. I have always found the creative juices flow when engaging in physical activities such as cycling and hiking. Must be something about oxygenated blood flow through the brain. 61,000 words on the page on this book to date. Maybe half way?

I cleaned my mountain bike this morning and fitted new brake blocks and tweaked the loose headset that irritated me last weekend in Connemara.

Forty mile ride completed in the afternoon. Very sunny but still not very warm. I think my face is a bit sunburnt.

Now time for some live music. They've re-upholstered the seats since I was last here. They must know someone who works in the bus depot as the material used is similar to what you usually find in buses.

I remember when I was ~5 we moved into a house where nearly all the paintwork was red or green. The previous owner had worked for London Transport.

It's funny how different writers are productive in different ways. I'm at my best late at night (for ideas anyway). Like in the bath, or, even more annoying still, while dropping off to sleep!

I have my current work-in-progress open on the laptop all the time, and so I'm constantly doing bits.

MOTD has been watched. Now watching the curling.
