Tail End Charlie

Well, write it down boy ......
My van passed the MOT today.
I still use the garage where I used to live, so it's a bit of an trip for me. I put the bike in the back, drop the van off really early, then go for a coffee and read the paper. I then go to a nearby NT property, have a mooch around and then have lunch there. After the long way back, I pick the van up. It's quite a pleasant annual outing for me!

Turned half of a dead ash tree into two wheelbarrows stacked high with logs. Had to de-tangle the tree from its neighbour first, then do the old yo-heave-ho every time I took a bit off the bottom. I ache all over...

I deserved my :cuppa: and kit kat.

Went to the REME Museum at Lyneham this afternoon with the Men's Shed peeps. We had a guided tour . 3/4 of the way round I developed a migraine . My vision decided to play up . It was like looking at a jigsaw puzzle with some of the bits in the wrong place .I still have a bit of a mild headache in the background .

That’s bad remember Mrs 73 having really bad migraine crying with pain. Then washed out for days after. It was a few years of detective work and trying different meds. Luckily she tried a new drug at the time which turned out to work. Before she got them under control , we know what additives set them off and she get’s a warning of flashing lights in her vision so takes her meds and normally heads of the worse. Still has bad ones and still gets them often.

Bet the REME museum is interesting must get down one day. My Dad and his uncle both served in the REME. So always have a soft spot for them.

It's been an odd day.

The LBS managed to repair son no. 2's TT bike after thinking it was wrecked (good), I won £200 from a magazine (also good) which covered the cost of the TT bike parts and repair, but visited my mother in hospital in Lincoln who's weakening despite the care they're trying to give her (really not good).

Hope they have her pain under control which at least is some comfort. :hugs:

As things it never goes to plan.
What I thought would be a simple suspension bush replacement on my ageing car turned into an expensive trip to the garage today.
The said bush couldn't be simply replaced. The whole lower arm was needed and a whilst poking around a new steering boot was needed. With all replaced the tracking had to be realigned leading to an unexpected bill of £250.
All good fun 🤣
