The Doomsday Clock has moved closer to midnight than it has ever been, and is now just 90 seconds, having been moved forward by ten seconds, away from striking 12.

Had a lovely luncheon of a beef & stilton sandwich, a banana, a clementine and two :cuppa:

Was the last of that lovely beef joint I had over the hols, was such a fabulous piece of meat and am sad there's no more left. But it's great to get to the bottom of something without it developing language skills. Was the last of the stilton, too.

Went out into the garden this arvo, to haul in the lengths of firewood that I cut yesterday. The original plan was to haul in half and turn it into logs, but it's way too cold here to be doing that, so I hauled in all of the wood instead. Will turn it into logs later in the week.

Now sat down with a :cuppa: and a waffle.

Forth Jouster?

The name was not visible to me so it was probably bow facing but no idea what this vessel would be used for.
My son will be back from Taiwan in a couple of weeks and will probably know since he worked on all sorts of vessels at one time and had a limited master’s ticket for large fish farm work boats.

I have been doing some tinkering on my bike frame . I needed to find a different caliper brake for the front as the previous one's bolt was too long . Whilst searching on my box of bits I found a container which had the Sturmey Archer cable connectors for my Convertible Tandem. As the bike is convertible it needs 2 gear cables which join together using male and female ends. I thought I had lost it when it snapped whilst out riding it .
I also played with some basecoat paints to try to match the grey metallic on the frame . I found a tin of grey metallic which was too dark so I added some silver from another tin . I think I have made a colour which seems close enough .

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
I'm in Derby for track racing this evening. Two observations:
  1. It's cold and foggy :cold:. West Yorkshire was neither this afternoon.
  2. The A38/A61 roundabout must be operating slow as there's queues on all roads leading there. I'm miles away but they're lined up moving slowly towards it here.
  3. And 3 (so not 2) - how can I get here from 70 miles away earlier than son no. 2 who's just 10 miles away?

We had a talk about cyber security at the Men's Shed this morning . They said that it is good to use 3 words in your password and that you shouldn't have it written on a stick it note on your computer .
Why not write Wrong Pass Word using something totally different and place that on your computer so that if it gets stolen they can spend hours typing in the wrong password !

When my elder son died his passwords were protected on his Macbook. Nothing was on paper.
We did manage to get partial access by guesswork which only close family members could guess because we thought he may have had financial details on it somewhere but never managed that. The details could be important for winding up his estate which took a firm of lawyers 2 years to complete. Their charges were IMO pretty modest unlike some other firms I have dealt with.
We got into his emails which had some weird ones. “ Dear Ali sorry to hear you died” was one example.
He also had a microsoft based laptop because that was part of his work and was easy to hack.

The weather never did clear up today and was very fine horizontal rain nearly the whole day.
The only useful thing I did was make enough soup for 5 days.
Have one portion for lunch with two in fridge and another two in the freezer.
Very depressing day and had a snooze early afternoon which I hate doing as I always feel terrible when I wake up and take ages to recover.
