Turned out a day of terrible weather with wind and sleet.
Just to get out I went and had a look at all the workboats down at the marina. They put in some heavy duty pontoons and they seem to be well used by quite large vessels mostly involved in moorings and fish farm work.

Calmac are probably secretly pleased to have a valid excuse to cancel the 2145 ferry from Oban and the earlier sailing from Mull. They did put out an excuse that there was a berthing problem at Oban for the last boat but this cancellation happens so often for a variety of different reasons that nobody now believes them.

This is the kind of weather where I keep a torch handy beside me as in the past we used to get lots of blackouts in windy weather but it has not happened recently so fingers crossed.

Somebody on the local Farcebook page mentioned toast and marmalade. I wonder how many others felt a pressing need to have toast and marmalade.

Need to get the sausage rolls in the oven for half seven.

I believe the road cycling season also kicks off tonight with the Tour Down Under.

Been out in the wild windy and wet weather. A 91km ride with cafe stop around 35km. A garden centre cafe hadn’t been to before, good menu , decent prices, and fairly warm as inside garden centre thus no cold air drafts when doors open.

I have a booking at the recycling centre tomorrow. The car has been loaded with a Calor gas heater (without gas bottle), two old TVs, a Sky box, a Sky+ box, three bike wheels, two pairs of handlebars, a metal vacuum flask and a radio. There is also a backpack loaded with an old laptop, an old Chromebook, various mobile phones (all previously factory reset), a load of dead batteries and all the leads for the electronics ready to go as well.

Trying to watch the Formula E, but the motor whine and the stop/start nature of the track just doesn't do it for me. Sky Sports F1 for season highlights then over to the NFL playoffs instead.

p.s. missed a couple of knackered old tablets off the list of electronics to be recycled

I've been learning to drive Windows 11. Not sure what it really does better than Windows 8.1 for my needs.

There's been problems, it would appear, with the latest set of updates. They can cause problems with Microsoft Office products, possibly causing them to crash.
