I popped out to get a watch battery, only to find everywhere was shut on a Monday: why doesn't one of them open? However, I got a coffee and cake plus tested the fuschia Raleigh before Sunday's retro ride out of Lincoln.
On the way back I passed someone practising for Easter Monday's World Coal Carrying Championships. No photo from today but men carry a 50kg sack of coal, women a 20kg sack:

As a teenager, I could easily walk around with a hundredweight bag of potatoes on my back.
Now, I think I'd collapse if I even tried!
