Grumblin at Garmin on the Granny Gear
Nearly taken out by an illegally ridden e-scooter while I was on my bike this afternoon - three possibly just about teenaged girls onboard and the 'driver' just rode straight off the footway via a dropped kerb to cross the road heading straight at me without looking HERE. Luckily (for them) no motor vehicles coming in either direction and I just about managed to brake hard miss them almost as if I was expecting something stupid to happen. Be interesting to try to work out how many offences were committed. Some robust language was aimed in their direction.

The sooner these things are just banned from sale the better and any ones currently in use are seized and crushed (after the batteries are removed and safely disposed of obviously).

Couldn't agree more. I've seen someone riding one along our local rail trail, at speed in the early morning when walking Cassie. Thankfully, she has quickly learnt to stay when these, bikes or runners are around.

A most peculiar thing happened between getting back from walkies just before 11:00 & 11:25 when my neighbour rang the doorbell to say that the fence separating our bungalows had caught fire and he'd extinguished it but it was still smouldering on our side!
Apparently he'd seen burning bits blowing around in the air and one must have landed & caught!
Just as well he spotted it 🔥 🔥🔥

Change of plan - the bottle bank and cake run can wait until Monday. Instead there's the excitement of doing a load of washing which will go on the whirlygig shortly, the vacuuming, cutting my fingernails and polishing my boots.
What kind of cake we getting?
One voucher is for an apple turnover or a maple and pecan pleat, the other is for a sweet bakery items which will probably be an iced doughnut. I can take them with me on Tuesday as travel snacks.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
In work today as i saw the forecast earlier in the week and knew i wouldnt be riding so although i had planned to have a day off i put my name down for overtime as i may as well get paid rather than sit at home .
I woke up still struggling with tiredness from yesterday so i i had to drag myself out of bed then spent 6 hours painting one of the blanking presses .
Home now and i am close to nodding off.

I wonder how it caught fire in the first place, had he been tidying his garden for spring and had a bonfire or was it spontaneous combustion.
