I did go for a somewhat stormy 35 miles on my mountain bike, and I almost made it home dry but heavy rain started for the last few miles. Arrived home a bit on the damp side.
I enjoyed the ride though, I took the road less travelled, up the other side of Lough Gartan for the first time in a while. I had forgotten how scenic it is, even in such dreich weather. A big part of it is unmetalled road and in poor condition after winter, but no trouble on 2" wide tyres.
I was pondering what the non-cycling community miss out on. There are probably many people who live in the locality and have never seen those views; as you would never drive along there if you liked your car and expected it to last!
