Next task was getting the cherry tree that ate the bar and chain from the saw to spit it out. I managed to get it to do that, but inevitably, the tree tipped in the opposite direction in which I wanted it to fall, and is now dingle dangling in its neighbour. I think I will need to use the mower to pull it free, but that's a task for another time

Sounds like a good excuse to buy a vintage tractor. A nice MF 35 or Fordson Dexta would be perfect. International B-275 if you want to be different.:okay:

I don't think you would find too many Case this side of the Atlantic. Some came over during the war and they bought David Brown and International years later and re-badged their existing range. You won't see many actual Cases although some of the Prairie monsters were sold in limited numbers.

I do know of a Case quite local to me that dates from c1916 but I know little about it's background. Probably came over during the drive for increased food production in WWI.

I wish, but unfortunately I wouldn't be able to get a full-sized tractor between the trees. Some of the spaces are pretty tight.

My 12.5 hp Westwood S1300 will have to do.

P.S. There used to be a fella with a Case around here, but haven't seen either him or it for some time.

You could buy a vineyard model.

It was probably an updated and re-badged David Brown from the 1980s.

I still think that would be far too much of a squeeze.

Vineyards are nice, tidy and orderly places. The wood chez Casa Reynard... is not.

Couldn't you produce a 'Samizdat' version and claim you were being oppressed?

Oh what a great idea.

The test is how brave I feel and "do I want to be sent to the gulag" The gulag translates locally as a shed in the garden.
But I run the mailing list and process. The covering note could be described as seditious. Most readers will get where the wind is coming from.
The rest probably don't read it anyway.
