Our new TV arrived at 11. 50 this morning. It then took what seemed like ages to set it up with passwords for different things.

Tell me about it. I don't have that aggro with the TV cos it's a 2008 model, but the Humax recorder's a different kettle of fish. The damned thing keeps crashing, and the only cure is usually a factory reset, so then it takes about 45 minutes to re-scan the channels, set the router password, set up the channel favourites, re-program all the record timers, and other sundry stuff.

I've gone for the pizza option for tea - this means that when I go into town tomorrow for bread & eggs I can also get the family's Ch****mas cards and a few other bits at the same time leaving Friday clear for a day out.

As I therefore had the afternoon spare, I went out for a 2 hour bike ride to get a voucher for my Mum's present saving £1.75 in P&P!

Why do they think that people like faffing about with all that? Why can't they simplify things?
