Very nice, almost as good as the one that appeared by my bedside, 10 mins ago. I did offer to make it myself but he was getting up anyway! I need to get up and start the weekend things to do list!

Just read the first chapter of Lance Armstrong's book, "It's not about the bike" (no it certainly wasn't, Lance!)

The local Homebase were offering second-hand books for a small donation to charity. There's irony there somewhere, but being somewhat limited in the brain cell department, I can't work out exactly where it is.

Off out to the poshest restaurant in town (easy now, it is Leicester) for the eight course tasting menu.:hungry:

I was dragged out to Cafe Rouge kicking and screaming - I wanted to go to Hansas - one of the best Indian vegetarian restauraunts in the country. I ordered the snail pie and moules frite. The other three members of the party ordered fish and chips (barely adequate) and chicken and chips (over seasoned). The service was shocking - it was staffed for a quiet Friday night and 'Leeds Lights' meant that last night was the busiest Friday of the year so far.

We might as well have ordered from the local chip shop and saved £55 and an hour's waiting.

Hansa's catered for my little brother's wedding in Pocklington. They did a full sit down banquet for the wedding breakfast and then tonnes of snacks and sweets for the party in the evening. I was stuffed. Definitely the best Indian food I've had, and I've lived in Leicester for 31 years.

Cafe Rouge I've never been in, completely fake mass catering by the looks of it. Bistrot Pierre used to be an excellent faux French restaurant when it started in Nottingham, now of course it's gone national and there is central purchasing and template menus so it's lost its appeal.

It's when it's quiet & the service is still awful that I object.

But this is not really mundane, tho' the restaurant may be.

Just finished breakfast of 2 cups of tea and a slice of toast. Still full from last nights feast. The White Peacock is rather poncy but the food is amazing and the staff great, perfect for an occasion. Last year we went in over the Christmas holiday for lunch and had a Baileys cocktail, utter heaven in a glass.
