Two doors up have set up a table in the front garden and the children (aged 4 and 6) are selling what looks like veg/fruit..... I want to support their efforts, but from here I can only see courgettes (we gave them the plant so we have plenty the same variety) and apples - which I know are nice but we have a small apple tree too that's smothered in apples. Still if I don't go they aren't going to get that many other customers today in the damp!

I'm not sure if it is light rain or heavy drizzle here at the moment.

Anyway, it's wet.

I bought apples, and plums and was given a free biscuit and some mint:okay:, the carrots sold out just before I got there. They are donating half to a charity and half to go to watch the latest Disney movie (forgot what they said it was called), and the little girl dressed in her school uniform as you have to wear uniform when you are in a shop;).

Last year, Mrs ID planted seven courgette plants and couldn't bear to cull the weakest ones, thus we had a glut of them that caused me to be chutneying for my life, searching for interesting new recipes, giving away courgettes to the local village shop for free, neighbours, family...
This year she planted three plants. I secretly pulled up one earlier on, she still thinks it got eaten by slugs...

I recently owned up to my parents that whenever they sent us up the garden to pick veg, I'd pick one for the bucket and one for the hedge! I wish I'd thought of the slug idea though it would have had a bigger impact!

Yesterday a female came to our house asking for sponsorship for cancer research. She was a complete stranger, I would say about 16/17 years old but her voice was silly, childish, squeeky and really awful. I said no thanks we are having lunch then shut the door. Saw her later going to someone else's door, I admire her for trying but does she really think people would sponsor a complete stranger with no proof that she was going to do what she said she was and that all the money was going to charity, thicker than she sounded
