I had one pair of handmade shoes for one of my children. When they were small the were a toe-walker and the hospital wanted to plaster both legs, at the same time I was pregnant and having problems, being told not to lift anything!

We decided to not put her in plaster for 6 weeks and instead had hand made shoes with the thickest most unyielding soles, which she wore all the time she was awake. They were really pretty with little flowers on. Luckily it worked and she avoided having to be put in plaster.

Similar situation for my friends. Their daughter needed specially-made shoes and they found this shop in Exeter that will make anything to order so she didn't need to have clinical shoes. The son decided he really liked them and so they agreed to get him some if he tried to behave at school (he's not dealing with his sister's illness and disability very well). The promise of a reward worked and today's the day to collect them.

Yep we go from one traffic problem to the next ... Went into town earlier and had the double whammy of football supporters and M5 gridlock holiday traffic!
