I always found a spud to work well, a nice big 'King Edward' rammed a foot up with a broom handle generally does the trick. There's a hole in my exhaust, dear Liza dear Liza, there's a hole in my exhaust, dear Liza, a hole...
With what shall I plug it?
A bit of sheet steel and a stick welder? There's a hole in my exhaust, dear Liza dear Liza, there's a hole in my exhaust, dear Liza, a hole...

Too obvious, the spud is all but invisible and really sorts out those 'noisy' tailpipes.A bit of sheet steel and a stick welder?
Not as much 'fun' as one of these though,A 0.3 by 2.1m workpiece feeling a bit of atmospheric pressure this afternoon. Pure vacuum porn!

What on earth is that? Whatever it is, I hope it doesn't disrupt @Hill Wimp's sleep.
You've never had a play with a veneer press like that, too much glue and it squirts it everywhere. What on earth is that? Whatever it is, I hope it doesn't disrupt @Hill Wimp's sleep.

8x4 is pretty standard but one place I worked had a 10x6 with 'heated platterns' that would cure glue (PVA or Cascamite) in 4 minutes, mind you they also had veneer 'stitchers'(so I didn't have to 'joint them). I'd send anything I needed veneering/laminating down to em then it was up to me to 'size' it and fix any 'lippings' on. A bit boring but it paid our Mortgage off. What size of workpiece can that thing take? Yes, yes. I want one.....but I just don't have the space.
BTW, I seem to be straying from The Mundane
