I managed to pick up a baritone from a 2nd hand junk shop on the coast a few years ago. The valves need sorting as a couple of the tops just pop up but PTFE tape has sorted them well enough for now :okay:
The new mouthpiece cost much more than the insrument.
I had a look on the web to see what one looked like and they looked rather complicated with all of key work. I'm still learning with my clarinets and it is quite satisfying when I get a sound out of them although it sometimes frightens the cats.

I know it's the way everyone does it and it's what the etiquette books prescribe, but I really hate it when the knife is turned in like that. It looks so cramped and claustrophobic and petty-minded. I have a friend, Lisette, who always turns all the knives on the table that way even though I have laid them out in a more relaxed, serrations on the outside, fashion. Perhaps "hate" is an understatement.
