Dulwich Paragon's Ride Of The Falling Leaves sportive today.

I usually ride it. This year, however, my weekend miles have been seriously curtailed by work, so I didn't enter, partly because I reckon the hills would have destroyed me without the miles in the tank, but mainly in order to do stuff with my little 'un instead.

Didn't feel like I was really missing anything this morning. Then I went outside. And the sun shone. And, pouring down Station Road in West Wickham, was wave after wave of cyclists, all on the way to Dulwich Sports Club for their hard-earned pasta and beer.

I have not been so saddened for quite a time.

It would have rained if you'd entered. They owe you big time.

Six o'clock flight in the AM. Off for a weeks holibobs in those Bally airic islands. Only discovered last week that they are below Spain, thought they were off the Portuguese coast!

If it were me I'd ask myself, am i in just my my pants and socks? If yes then the gate is locked. If I am still fully dressed I'll probs go check.

Glorious here today. Didn't go out on the bike, but got batteries charged. I jet washed the paths, decking and the drive - we were getting quite a bit of moss on the drive - filthy job. Took a couple of hours all in. Then put the new Kool Stop salmons on the canti brakes on the old MTB - I hope these actually stop me as you soon realise how crap they are compared to modern disks.

It has been known.... We back onto a bit of a dodgy estate.

I broke into a shed today. I took ten seconds with a 115mm dia. cordless angle grinder with a thin blade. My bike lock, even though it has an 11 mm shackle ( compared to the 6mm one in the piccie) really doesn't stand a chance.
