JJ started laying again 2 days ago. HH laid yesterday and is trying her hardest now. One of the newbies has lain whilst we were out shopping (buying eggs

(the original 2 did this to us last time we bought eggs - we promptly found 6 under the house and then HH laid a 7th in the nesting boxes whilst we were under the house)) this morning. Mind you it means that at least 1 of them is settling down into a routine. HH has just been ousted from the nesting boxes again. I think I may have to make her a small area only she can get into under the boxes. She is being hounded badly at the moment and needs the protection - I'm having to scatter feed around the place to ensure she actually gets something at the moment. JJ, younger than HH by a year, but bigger and heavier than her, has taken to protecting her most of the time. It feels like I'm back in an all-girls' school playground again what with all the bullying tactics that are going on.

Yesterday I ended up creating another level of roosting perches to deal with the constant fights at night. It worked. My original two have their old roosting perch back and the newbies are higher up (and higher in the pecking order) on the new perch that my original 2 are not interested in. Ahhhhhh
And the clocks go forward tonight at 2am... it will be darker in the mornings and back to dodge the kangaroo on the way to work for my OH... though not until Tuesday because it is our 2nd BH Monday in a row for him... All it means for me is that I have to occupy him for another day this weekend the same as last weekend... ahhhhh
