It is difficult to make a cheese sauce with no butter for the roux. Wife has been dispatched to the shop to procure the dairy product whilst I finish steaming the cauliflower. Doh!

Nothing in this house is knotted.
Butter is a staple... Used in cake baking so there is always some in... I bought 3 packs today just to be on the safe side!

My microwave has died, it will be buried tomorrow morning at 9 o/c at the skip along with all the wrappings of the new one that I had to buy this afternoon.

Is there a local school or nursery that might like it in their 'mud kitchen'? I'm only saying that because I have just started working in our school nursery and there is an old microwave in the mud kitchen which the children enjoy `cooking' with. FYI, a mud kitchen is a place outside where children can play cook with a range of old pots and pans, spoons, jugs etc. They bring in water and compost or sand and have a great time. They all keep a pair of wellies in the classroom and we have sets of waterproofs when the weather gets more wintery.
