We did something similar after leaving Preston (and the Lakes District) for Surrey. Hated it until we moved to the Surrey/Sussex/Hampshire border and had some scenery back but found the place just had too many trees and was too claustrophobic. Hated not being able to see mountains and only survived by returning to the Lakes and later on to Scotland repeatedly during the year. I missed views badly. The weather didn't hack it for me.
OH had a flat in the middle of Bristol - I cannot stand living in cities (I thought I wouldn't, but staying with him before we reached the stage of moving in together just confirmed this), so our compromise was a village to the north of Bristol, close enough for him to cycle to work. There is a field on one side of the house (currently with 6 ft+ high maize blocking the view), and in one direction we can see the Cotswold scarp from the window. So better than too many trees. And there are plenty of relatively quiet country lanes for cycling.

Me missing the Lakes was the reason for the holiday cottage, although we don't use it as often as I'd like (the last twice OH went it rained continuously, which has rather put him off - the wuss!)

Grey here, but sun is due later...:sun: :bicycle:

Morning. It is a lovely bright start to the day here this morning with the sun shining behind the hills, a deep blue sea and a light blue sky, it's a bit breezy though.
Yesterday's weather soon changed to a misty grey so we went for a cliff walk. It may have only been a few miles but it seemed like a marathon, we had a lot of stops as it was hilly and we had to look at the views. The sun came out later and burnt off most of the Clouds leaving a large bank of cloud and mist running from East to West as we looked North from where we were.

To all those who sent birthday wishes, thank you.

To those that didn't, I know where you live!!

Sun, sun, sun on the North Kent coast but noticeably more wind. More watering!

Llandudno is a tad damp this morning, its piddling down, was doing last nights washing up at six this morning, woke early and couldn't get back to sleep, my Good Lady is still deep in the land of nod.

Have you tried the Cottage Loaf? We used to go to Tiffany's but the staff started to spend time chatting to each other rather than serving.

A bit of yesterday.
