Early, but yes, I'm awake now.
I recommend a good pair of Leitz binoculars. You live by the sea, you plan some twitching. They cost the earth, but you only cry once. Look through Leitz, Zeiss binoculars once, then immediately compare to Bushnell or Bausch and Lomb, and you'll see why people pay the difference.

Yes, don't do that there. A good strap is a good investment, just like a good tripod used to be the best thing you could buy to improve your (film) photography.

You are not helping.

Maybe a slightly cheaper pair to see a little more than i am at the moment and then i may invest in a posh pair when work give me that big cheque in a couple of years. I also need to keep them small and light as i am likely to want to put them in my handlebar bag for cycling.
