Since Farquharson, our miniature fig tree died, we have been bereft. Bereft I tell yer...

So, without wishing to tarnish Farquahrson's memory, Mrs P and I have filled the forlorn space in the living room with another family member.

The trouble is, after Farquharson Fig's demise, we are having trouble naming him. He is a Livistona Rotundifolia (!) and this is him:

Leonard, Lincoln, Leslie, I dunno. When naming one's plants, it's important to get it right. You don't want to upset them in later life...

Morning! I'm a bit busy this morning, dashing down town in a few minutes. It was sunny earlier, seems to be clouding over a bit now.

Are you sure it is a him? Would something generic like Jay or Charlie be more appropriate?

Mr R is away for the weekend (his family all get together at a campsite for a 'Cousins Weekend') and I've managed to get out of it because it wouldn't be fair to take Jack.

I decanted a bottle of Chateau Musar 2007 last night. This will accompany a piece of roast pork belly, broccoli, carrots, and celeriac mash.

And I've got alligator steak for tomorrow.
