The MIL has already been on the phone asking where my wife is. I've had to lie as we haven't told her my wife's hours were reduced, so she's working 2 days and not 4. MIL still thinks she's working 4 days. My wife is actually at the docs having a small lump removed off her back as it's rubbing on clothes.

MIL actually reeled off a list of stuff she wanted (she's only just got out of hospital and is in a local care home). I've no doubt she has tried my wife's mobile. If she can't get you, then she goes through all the phones, mine, then the kids until someone answers, and the other sisters !

It's bad having to lie, but my wife wouldn't get a minutes rest if her mum knew she was only working 2 days.

In order to best look after needy relatives and friends for that matter you have to look after yourself first otherwise they drain you.

Worry when she is not constantly ringing.
