Err I fell off my bike today... All my own fault.. Pannier strap caught on a gate... I kept going but the pannier and bike didn't. Just slightly bruised and cut!

The discovery I made in Oz with all the exotic birds flying about is that the prettier and more colourful the bird the more off key and piercing its squawk.

thank you. that helps. have seen a few of them, plus some Australian magpies and something very similar whose name now escapes me which is also of the same black and white colouring.

No aussie accent. It does not seem that pronounced in Canberra at all.

The only problem I have found with the apartment is that is does not get any sun, which in the summer could be a blessing. I'm not certain it is now.

oh and the Australians work in kJ's not calories so I'm having to guess at everything. I think I am meant to have 8700kJ daily if I'm not on this diet that I am on. And I need to change everything over to an Australia language keyboard on everything because the lack of a $ sign on the tablet except via 4 clicks is driving me mad!
