So tonight we went for a meal. The restaurant has no signage, no frontage, just a simple green door with the number 5 on it. Inside was the best Italian I have ever been to, packed full on a wet Wednesday, half the diners were Italians, and the other half seemed to be known by the owner. The food was brilliant and the atmosphere superb. Have you ever got the feeling that you have stumbled upon a secret? That.

Whats behind the Green Door?

We were in Venice a few years ago and looking for somewhere for lunch. We walked down this narrow alleyway and found a Pizza place, best find of the holiday, not only was the food good but the price wasn't bad either.

I seem to have spent a lot of time moving stuff from room to room this morning. And I still have 6 pairs of shoes in the living room. My room shuffling work is not over yet.

Cracking little place isn't it, just off Belvoir St (forget the name of the road but it's the street that had Youngs Cameras on the corner)

EDIT It has been there for 30yrs, first went there with some of my ex's colleagues for a birthday party.

The best Italian meal i have had in the UK was in an Italian restaurant in Gay Street in Bath back in the early 90s. Not sure if it's there now but it was full of Italians and their Veal was cooked to perfection.

After spending rather a lot of time in Italy it was the closest to traditional Italian cooking i had tasted outside Italy.

We only spotted it by accident a couple of months ago when I had parked round there for a show at the comedy festival. The only thing that gave away that there was a restaurant there was the hygene rating label in the window. I peered though the door and got quite a surprise to see so many people.
