Two baby gates one on top of the other?

From 40 years on autopilot.

It was then that I was twotted off my bike and found myself lying in the middle of a road, face down in a small puddle of my own blood. From that moment on I decided to stop fannying about and get on with living, and it has been a fantastic decade since.
So are you saying ,on a cycle forum, that cycling is pants?

That might work... my mother never could work the "modern" baby gates and would climb over them...

She is off work and keeps coming and talking at me, after asking me to pause BigBad etc so she can hear... I do not have time for being talked at... I thought I had stacked the large boxees of fleece in the doorway in a sufficient manner to bar entry but apparently not...

I find being partially deaf in both ears helps
Oooh don't!

With Dad being a deaf as anything and mum being partially deaf I often find myself shouting what one is saying to another one

i.e. Mum is in the kitchen asking do you want a cup of tea I am in the vicinity of Dad in the dining room and he says "what is she saying" I then have to loudly say to him "Mum wants to know if you want tea"... then Mum invariably says "What are you saying to me" and I have to go to the kitchen and say "I am saying to Dad you are asking him if he wants tea" then Dad says "What are you saying to me" and I then go to him and say "I am telling Mum that I was asking you if you wanted tea" and on and on and on it goes....

They do however both have the ability to hear me say to a friend on the phone in a quiet voice "They are driving me mental" despite Big Bad donking away and my TV on, their TV on (Very loud) from 2 rooms away....

I soooo know what you mean here. It's just like that for me with my parents.

This made me chuckle. It's a quote by Frankie Boyle in todays Guardian.

"I sympathise a little with Hunt – he was born into military aristocracy, a cousin of the Queen, went to Charterhouse, then Oxford, then into PR: trying to get him to understand the life of an overworked student nurse is like trying to get an Amazonian tree frog to understand the plot of Blade Runner. Hunt doesn’t understand the need to pay doctors – he’s part of a ruling class that doesn’t understand that the desire to cut someone open and rearrange their internal organs can come from a desire to help others, and not just because of insanity caused by hereditary syphilis."

Not at all, cycling is great. Suddenly stopping cycling and becoming airborne is not so hot.

In all though it is about the best thing that ever happened to me, I have done so much, experienced so many things, had great adventures, and of course took Lu to the other side of the World and married her. None of which would have happened if I had continued, as most people live their lives, with the perhaps one day... I might do that some time... attitude.

Happy Birthday Katherine .... may it be full of sunshine (and the showers stay away ... at least whilst you are outside!)

Just had a text... from youngest Summerling .... muttering something about .... "I may have broke the towel rail" ... which one... how.... I assume not the heated towel one .... (I hope). No other information about how .....

And in the same text asking for socks!!! I think he must eat them ... I only bought a new pack a week ago .... luckily he spotted the new new packet that I found in the right size the following week ...
