Have you tried a search on YouTube? There are loads of strip-down vids, and sometimes it's amazingly easy to access the fan. On my old HP 6120, eg, it's a matter of removing two screws on the bottom, using a basic cross-head screwdriver, then releasing four clips on top of the keyboard, using a basic fingernail, then the keyboard just lifts out and there's the fan. Cleared out a pad of dust on mine recently in about five minutes from start to finish.
I will try that thanks . I removed all the screws on the back but it just would not come off.

Don't forget to switch it off and unplug it first...

I was going to potter in the garden. Well, off to collect a WIFI powerline based extender so we can get WIFI over to the new summer house - bloody kids. Even got 4 sockets in there with one socket having USB charging !!!

My son was asking for gigabit wired connection - it's a long way to the summer house (shed with windows) from the router - told him to sod off. Already got a big armoured cable going to the 'shed with windows'.
I was thinking more second home in the South of France:laugh:

On the HP it's really idiot-proof...there are half a dozen screws on the back, but the ones holding the keyboard have little embossed keyboard icons next to them.
(But if you didn't know about the wee clips at the top of the keyboard, removing the screws wouldn't get you anywhere.)

Jack, the dog, is unwell. It looks as though he's damaged the ACL in his left hind leg. He's feeling very sorry for himself and is hopping along on three legs. He had a short walk this morning but didn't even react when his girlfriend turned up to sniff his butt.

He's at the vet at the moment having tests and X-rays etc. If it's the ACL, then the most likely course of treatment is surgery.

Luckily we have insurance as the this is a very expensive problem - we're up to almost £500 just on examinations and tests.
