Good luck with your phased return to work. Having been off for 3 months after being diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue and Fybromyalgia i started returning to work in February for 4hrs twice a week. I had to drop it to one lot of 4hrs as i returned to quick but 4 weeks ago i, along with my Dr decided that a full day was in order. I felt liked i had turned a corner and going to work was keeping me in the loop with what was going on and with my collegues plus it was building my stamina back up. Good for mental and physical health or so i thought.
OH then decided that i could not return to work until i could manage 16hrs a week so i had to go sick again. I was on course to be doing 16hrs by the end of May so why could they not just let me continue as i was? Is it not better tohave me do some work than none at all?
I am incredibly p***ed off with this random decision. The NHS process for CF recovery is called Pacing and involves just that. Anybody can read about it on the internet. I am now waiting for OH , after weeks of requesting them, to get my medical records and get me an appointment to see the CMO. Hopefully he/she will see sense.
I do a pretty demanding job i know and it really relies on close teamwork so isolating you from your team is not helpful especially when you live some distance away from where you work.
Sorry for the rant but there comes a time when doing everything you can at home to get well and fitter for work is not enough and you need to put your toe in the water and start to return gradually.
I hope you have better luck with your OH @fossyant .

p you like a stone. I continued as you say you feel useful and gain from interaction with people. I increased my hours to 20 hrs, but any illness can really hit me and it takes a long time to recover. Then the company introduced people having time off due to illness scheme. I wonder who would be top of their list?
I resigned and decided to go self employed as I wouldn't have to do all hoop jumping that going back on benefits would mean.
If I have a day with the fairies I am totally useless to anyone.
I've put my 3/4 lengths in for the ride home ... but it was a very foggy ride in! Lots of water droplets on my clothes!Right i'm off out and i have 1/4 of my legs out
