Unfortunately it reminded me of one of the jobs for today.... We discovered the outside drain seems blocked late yesterday evening but as it resisted our attempts to sort it in the dark we decided to leave it till the morning for a second attack!

What is your recommended method? Not really had to unblock many.... And the last blockage was in the pipe coming from the kitchen sink at our old house, whereas this is down the gulley after that point!

My daughter wants us to find the wallpaper stripper, and she is bringing the freezer round. I wish she would let me wake up first.

Any part of a drain that also serves another property is likely to be the responsibility of your local water authority. Check the web for your area, the rules were changed in 2011.

Funny enough I quite like unblocking our drain. It seems to get blocked at least once a year, I think it's the dishwasher tablets that block it. A job for the old rubber glove and stick your arm down!

Miss K is going to run in the local park run this morning, so I actually need to get dressed and walk down to watch her go past at our end of the woods. It's sunny but it rained hard last night, so it's going to be very muddy!!

We had Stilton Garlic Mushrooms and Garlic bread for tea last night, not sure about just wallpaper but I'd bet either of us could take paint off with this mornings breath (mind you it was worth it last night)

I use a coat hanger. Unwind it. Straighten it. Put your arm into the offending drain and poke the wire round and round.

Do you reshape the hanger to reuse?
