I'll ask my grandchildren and let you know. They speak fluent welsh.. but an example is tyre. No word in welsh for it so they say teer. Thats how they pronounce it not spell it. battery. They say batriss. Again the way its pronounced not spelt. They use an english word and give it a welsh sound.


Like cartio for the road sign to a go karting place near Queensferry?

There is no word in welsh for microwave so they improvise. Poppity is welsh for oven, and ping is the noise your microwave makes when it finishes the cooking cycle. So poppity ping, or oven that goes ping.

And mundanely, I can't remember the last time I used the microwave.

I used my microwave this morning and it goes beep beep beep when it finishes.

Surely the Welsh for beep can't be ping? :smile:

Toast can be buttered with a dessert spoon...
Bugger, all the knives are in the dishwasher, although the knife stealing fairy may well have re-appeared, so needs must.
