Slow news day

Its the ROYALS!! We should all be deliriously happy and overjoyed to pay our taxes so that we have such a fine, noble and old family as our heads of state!! We should all bow down to them, put our lives on the line for them if needed, follow their every move with reverent, hushed wonder and look down our noses at those poor sods who live in Republics.
They do such a great job for this country, especially the Tea Towel industry, they are so glorious and magnificent!!
Every Johnny Foreigner knows that they have no chance at anything against our Glorious Leaders, not ever Kim Jong Un!!

We should all be selflessly supporting our young hero's trip to show the rest of the world who is boss, I mean, what's WRONG with you people??!!

I'll get me coat.

I rather like my republic, but not Republicans, necessarily. I am related to a couple of Publicans, but they are Democrats. I'm afraid the only souvenir I have of the Monarchy is a biscuit tin with H.M. Queen Elizabeth II.( And a rolled up poster of the Kaiser, somewhere.)

The only souvenir of the Monarchy I have is a chip on my shoulder about the free loading parasites!!

I've a Huntley and Palmer's biscuit tin, but it says HRH Princess Elizabeth, and that she's a Colonel of the Grenadier Guards. No biscuits in it though, I've looked.

I now have images of her going about in a Busby (the large Bearskin <although I doubt they are now> hats they wear). I mean, I imagine it would almost be as tall as she is!!

I think Girl Scout Cookies have most recently resided in this one. I think there is one with English Pub Signs on it too. It houses correspondence from a cute girl. Back 25 years ago, when you wrote letters to your girlfriend. When I was young, I wanted to be in the 5th Cavalry, but they ride tanks and helicopters .

Well, it turns out they drive about in Tanks half the time anyway.

My father drove one of these once, it's a Weasel. I think it was after WWII, when he was in a motor pool, waiting to be shipped home from the Pacific. He had been infantry, but got moved to M.P.s and motor pool after the war, when we occupied South Korea.
