Lost the battery pack for my Ay Up Lights on the way home. The perfect end to a very stressful working day.
Today at work I was asked to put some old Windermere steamer posters in order, what order was not specified, so I chose "prettiness*". The 1974 "See More of Windermere" was a clear winner with 4 colours in the title, sprays of flowers and a photo of a boat, at the other extreme 1978, well, it is a wonder they did not close down that year, a monochrome shot of people on a pier and a slogan so dreary I have already forgotten it did no-one any favours.
*"Aesthetic appeal" to the linguistically talented.
Glad it didn't hatch open when you were close up and it thought you were its mummy, then followed you home!I listened to an egg today.
I was going to leave that enigmatic, but feel compelled to explain. Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust have been doing their "Downy Duckling Days" guided tours of the duckery this week. We all got to listen to the tap tap tapping of a ring-necked duck working its way out of its egg, before being taken round to see the latest hatchlings. Big huddled bundles of downy feathers, with beaks and huge feet sticking out. What's not to like? Aaah!
I went to the dentist today,
as I chipped a tooth a while ago,
and they saw me today.
Lots of drilling, and a nice filling.
The man truly is an artist.
A parcel man just delivered a package from someone here, I used to drink with him down the local... reading the label he said to me 'Who's Ian Duke?'
That, and tornado warnings for north in the county kept going on the telly and alarming his assistant.I think he might have been calling you an artist but you couldn't hear the rest of what he was saying over the sound of the drill....
