Mundane News (Part 1)

Maybe technically, but you can still use a £5, £10, £20 and probably £50 in places down south (it is now illegal/against some sort of rule to refuse these notes from Scotland/N.I./IOM/Channel Islands now apparently - They had to make a new law about 10 years ago now).

You can't use a £1 and '100, full stop though.

English shopkeepers don't appear to have been told about the rule/law......

On more than one occasion I've walked out of shops empty handed because they've refused to accept Scottish notes and I've refused to substitute English notes for the purchase.

I once bought a takeaway at a Chinese restaurant in South Wales using Scottish Pound notes...... Poor chap was a bit confused but he took the money eventually

I flew back home from scotland after a business trip. I had some Scottish money on me and paid the taxi driver with it. The change he gave me was .......also Scottish money. Go figure

I gave him £20.00. The fare was £10.00. I was going to give him some, but not half the entire cost of the taxi fare.

My mundane news, I'm not going to Swansea today. I may be going to Newcastle Emlyn on Sunday though.. For clarity, the is for the necessary journey, the destination is (and I may get a chance to pop into the Howies shop up the road.)

There's a little tickle at the back of my mind that indicates to me @welsh dragon that there may be some hint in your attitude of bias towards Swansea...Wish I could put my finger on it (Fnaarrable alert)
