The fire alarm in the local swimming bath just went off. The poor bathers had to go semi-naked and wet to the library about 100 meters up the road, where they were huddling in those silver blankets that they give marathon runners when they collapse at the end. Not a good day for walking around with most of your kit off.

Funny all this talk about mouses. I'm very pleased with my new one. My old one, the wheel stopped working. It was an elderly mouse. So I took an Executive Decision, bought a new one off ebay for £1.99, and threw the old one out. I know, I know...just a spendthrift, me. But I'm very pleased with the new one. It has a wee red light on the bottom instead of a wheel. Posh!
